What Northlake glass asks for
Northlake is one of the fastest-growing towns in North Texas, and most of what is here is new. Harvest and Pecan Square, both Hillwood communities, account for a large share of it, and more is going up along I-35W every year.
New construction isn't the easy job people assume. A house that has just been finished has glass carrying whatever the trades left on it: mortar splatter, stucco splash, paint overspray, adhesive from the manufacturer's labels, and the fine grit that settles on every pane during a build. Builder clean-ups are quick by design, and quick doesn't get that off.
It also needs care rather than force. Fresh construction debris on glass is exactly the situation where scrubbing at it puts scratches in a brand-new window, and a scratched pane is a replacement, not a clean. It comes off with the right approach, and we'd rather take the time than hand you a damaged window.
Living on an active build street has a second effect worth knowing: while lots around you're still going up, the dust doesn't stop. Plenty of Northlake homeowners wait until their immediate street is finished before getting the first proper clean, and that's usually the right call.
Three things that show up on Northlake glass.
-
Post-construction residue
Mortar, stucco splash, paint overspray and label adhesive. A builder's clean-up doesn't take it off.
-
New glass scratches easily
Construction debris is exactly what turns a scrub into a replacement. It comes off properly, with care.
-
Active-build dust
While the lots around you're still going up, the dust keeps coming. Worth timing the first clean for once your street is done.

Northlake questions, answered.

My house is brand new. Do the windows really need cleaning?
Usually more than an older house does. New glass carries mortar splatter, stucco splash, paint overspray and label adhesive from the build, and the builder's final clean is rarely more than a quick pass.
-
Will cleaning off construction residue scratch the glass?
It can, if it's done wrong — that's the main risk on a new build. Grit dragged across a pane scratches it permanently. It needs lifting off rather than scrubbing at, which is what we do.
-
Should I wait until the building around me is finished?
Often, yes. If lots on your street are still active, the dust will keep landing. We'll give you an honest answer at the estimate rather than selling you a clean that won't last.
